HOW TO GET THE MOST OUT OF YOUR BLOW DRY

blowdry

In an ideal world, we’d all like to roll out of bed every morning and have our own personal hair stylist blow-dry our hair to perfection. Unfortunately, this is not a reality for the day to day woman, so we are giving you some tips on how to get the most out of your blow-dry and achieve salon hair all week.

The first step is setting the right foundation. The key to a long lasting blow-dry is finding the right shampoo and conditioner for your hair type. It’s very easy to overload our hair with moisture in a shampoo and conditioner which can cause a build-up of oil after 1-2 days.

Our Prescriptive Solutions range is colour safe and tailor made for different hair types. The Moisture Balance shampoo and conditioner help to lock in moisture, while targeting colour vitality and offering superior strengthening properties for healthier and more lustrous hair.

When it comes to styling products, less is more – limit yourself to the essentials when preparing for your blow-dry. Apply our Extinguish from the Defence Range to protect your hair against heat damage. Containing Argan Oil, this is the perfect product for moisture, gloss and protection.

By Day 2 or 3 you’ll start to see the dreaded oily roots. Absorb from the Essential Treatments range is a dry shampoo designed to control oily scalp conditions. It will be your go to product to absorb any excess oil that makes your hair look greasy, without drying out your scalp. Spray onto the roots of your hair and wait a few minutes for it to absorb the oil then comb any excess product out of your hair. Lastly, flip your hair upside down, and use a blow dryer to further revive volume.

By Day 4 and 5, this is when we really start to worry about limp hair. Revive the volume of your blow-dry by using a mix of Quicksand and Sandstorm from the Elements range to add texture and natural movement with definition to your hair – this will awaken your style and help revive your blow-dry!

Follow these tips and you’ll be sure to make the most out of your blow-dry. Remember, less is more and dry shampoo is your new best friend. Happy styling!
